What type of leather do you use?

We use premium full grain leather sourced from the finest tanneries in South Africa. Our leather is vegetable tanned and naturally dyed, ensuring durability and a beautiful patina that develops over time. Each piece is carefully selected for quality and consistency.

How do I care for my leather products?

To maintain your leather products:

Are your products handmade?

Yes, all our products are handcrafted by Me (Quintin Hills). Each piece is carefully cut, stitched, and finished by hand, ensuring the highest quality and attention to detail. This traditional craftsmanship results in unique, durable products that last a lifetime.

Shipping & Delivery

How long does shipping take?

Standard shipping within South Africa takes 3-5 business days. Express shipping is available for 1-2 business days. International shipping typically takes 7-14 business days depending on the destination. You'll receive tracking information once your order ships.

Do you ship internationally?

Yes, we ship to most countries worldwide. International shipping rates and delivery times vary by location. Please note that customers are responsible for any import duties or taxes that may apply in their country.

Is shipping free?

We offer free standard shipping on orders over R1500 within South Africa. For orders under R500, a small shipping fee applies. International shipping rates are calculated based on weight and destination.

Returns & Refunds

What is your return policy?

We offer a 30-day return policy for unused items in their original packaging. Custom or personalised items cannot be returned unless there's a manufacturing defect. Please contact us before returning any items.

How do I return an item?

To return an item, please contact us at info@hillies.co.za with your order number and reason for return. We'll provide you with a return authorisation and shipping instructions. Return shipping costs are the responsibility of the customer unless the item is defective.

How long do refunds take?

Once we receive your returned item and verify its condition, refunds are processed within 5-7 business days. The refund will be issued to your original payment method. You'll receive an email confirmation when the refund is processed.

Do you offer customisation?

Yes, we offer various customisation options including embossing, engraving, and custom colors. We can also create completely bespoke pieces based on your specifications. Contact us to discuss your custom requirements.

How long do custom orders take?

Custom orders typically take 2-4 weeks depending on complexity. Simple personalisation like embossing may take 1-2 weeks, while complex bespoke pieces can take 4-6 weeks. We'll provide you with a specific timeline when you place your order.
